Top 10 Ways To Size Up The Cities of Miami vs San Antonio for the NBA Finals.
San Antonio collides with Miami in a Top 10 clash of lifestyles.
HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Sizing up the cities. Head-to-head from WAGS to parades and landmarks to Harlem Shakes.
With the NBA Finals upon us, pundits and NBA analysts are breaking down the teams and matchups, but we decided to take it one step further and break down the actual cities. On the surface one appears all flash and sex appeal and the other appears fundamentals and down south values. Head-to-head the results might surprise.
#1. Fan showdown (San Antonio)
The Spurs win this one easy. San Antonio fans have proven to be both loyal and classy. Miami fans tend to jump ship, duck out of games (and seasons) early when things aren’t going well, and have demonstrated their lack of class. Remember this lady for a couple weeks ago? Yikes.
#2. Most Beautiful Celebrity WAG / Ex-WAG (Tie)
This one is tough. It basically boils down to DWade’s current girlfriend Gabrielle Union vs. Tony Parker’s ex-wife Eva Longoria. We’ll call this one a tie and move on … after examining the photos some more of course.
#3. Harlem Shake Showdown (Miami)
This one is close. Both Harlem Shakes are fairly similar, but Miami gets the edge for it involving their actual players and not simply their management.
#4. Best Dressed (San Antonio)
It comes down to Wade’s outrageous outfits against Tim Duncan’s lack of effort. We begrudgingly give San Antonio the edge because we could never pick a team with a player that wears outfits like the one below. What are you thinking Wade?
#5. Best cheerleaders / dancers. (Miami)
They bring that somethin’ somethin’. I don’t know if it’s the South Beach vibe or not, but this one was easier to pick than others
#6. Coolest Landmark (Miami)
This is the Alamo vs. South Beach. I don’t know about you, but you can see the Alamo in about 5 minutes and feel like you should have spent your 5 minutes doing something else. South Beach, on the other hand, is amazing.
#7. Best Parade (San Antonio)
Miami’s parade is pretty common. With all the natural beauty of South Beach, their parade is a little lackluster. San Antonio has their parade on the river. Both sides are lined with fans. Fans are even hanging off the many bridges that stretch over the downtown River Walk as the parade floats go by. This is a very cool parade.
#8. Coolest Arena (Miami)
It’s San Antonio’s AT&T Center vs. Miami’s American Airlines Arena (Miami) The AT&T Center is ok, but it’s not very spectacular. The American Airlines Arena definitely has a better look and feel.
#9. Unofficial Motto (San Antonio)
It’s hard to see anything beating “Don’t mess with Texas” which is more than a motto and feels like a law. San Antonio is true to its Texas roots, culture, and pride. That’s a motto no one forgets. The closest thing Miami has to a motto is the “‘I’m taking my talents to South Beach” fiasco. We are all still trying to forget.
#10. Signature Drink (Miami)
San Antonio would have to be best known for Big Red, Aguas Frescas, and Lonestar Beer, while Miami’s known for Ciroc. Depends on what you like, but I’ll take the Ciroc over Big Red any day.
