Kevin Durant engaged to WNBA star Monica Wright
Kevin Durant is officially off the market. He got engaged over the weekend to WNBA star Monica Wright.
Hoopsvibe's quick call: Look out for the future of the NBA/WNBA.
Hoopsvibe would like to send a big congratulations to the Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant and the Minnesota Lynx's Monica Wright, after finding out on Monday that the baller couple just got engaged. Wright confirmed the engagement after Minnesota's win Sunday over the Phoenix Mercury.
Durant and Wright have been dating for a few years, having reportedly met at the McDonald's High School All-American game in 2006. Durant is listed at 6 foot 9 inches and averaged 28.1 points and 7.9 rebounds a game this season for the Thunder while Wright is a 5 foot 10 inch guard/forward who is currently averaging 9.7 points and 3.5 rebounds for the Lynx. If Durant and Wright decide to have children in the future, it will be interesting to see a) if they decide to play basketball like their parents and b) if their future offspring turn out to be some of the best players in the history of the NBA/WNBA.
The two ballers have kept fairly quiet with their romance, although Durant did Tweet "Or maybe I need a basketball playing girlfriend … hmm lol, Monica Wright where r u (love n basketball)" back in 2011.
Maybe Lebron should propose to Skylar Diggins to keep up??!!
Congrats again from Hoopsvibe to one of the more athletic couples in history!
