Rumor: Lamar and Khloe to Europe?

it’s ya boy @RealLamarOdom !" Odom tweeted to Gasol. "My dude really want 2 talk 2 u! Really thinking about going 2 play in Europe after this season!"

Link

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Who knows Lamar Odom’s real motivation?

The two-time world champion, superstar sixth-man, and reality TV King is thinking of plying his trade in Europe if the lockout cancels part or all of the NBA season.

So Odom tweeted his L.A. Lakers’ teammate Pau Gasol to ask his advice. No phone call. No e-mail. No text. No Skype. No face-book message.

Such information and manoeuvring is intentional and deliberate when your part of the multi-million dollar brand known as the Kardashians.

Odom wanted you, me, and the public to know about him possibly going to Europe.

And this represents a larger issue for the Lakers, who lost in the second round of the playoffs to the world champion Dallas Mavericks.

They’re trying to get back atop the NBA, while Odom seems pre-occupied with his show and selling stuff.

Something has to give. It may end with the Lakers trading their versatile forward or not picking up the last year of his contract in 2013.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries make $18 million off wedding

The buxom reality-TV diva and her basketball-playing hubby, Kris Humphries, raked in a lot more than a few toasters when they tied the knot last night -- scoring about $17.9 million by turning the ceremony into a media extravaganza.

Link

HoopsVibe's Very Quick Call: Some were concerned that Kris Humphries' basketball career would suffer by marrying Kim Kardashian.

And some, like our own Paul Eide, were concerned that the Kim-Kris pairing would suffer the fate of other marriages involving a celebrity and NBA player.

Well, does it even matter?

Reports indicate Kardashian and Humphries are poised to earn a cool $18 million by selling the rights to their special - and lucrative - day.

Heck, Hump' can retire today from his gig as a mostly mediocre power forward.

It doesn't matter if the players and owners ever agree to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. And it doesn't matter if he ever signs another NBA contract.

He's good. Very good.

Clearly, being Mr. Kim Kardashian is a far better racket than being Kris Humphries.

Marriage And NBA Players: Just Don’t Do It

With the endlessly publicized marriage of reality skanklet Kim Kardashian to NBA Kris “Who’s He?” Humphries taking place this weekend, it reminded me of several other ill-fated NBA player marriages.

NBA lets Nets attend Kris and Kim’s wedding

A team official says the Nets have been granted permission to attend the reality star's marriage to forward Kris Humphries on Saturday in California.General manager and other members of the Nets' basketball operations department are expected to attend the ceremony of their free agent forward, the official told The Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because the guest list was to remain private. With players and their teams not supposed to be in contact during the lockout, they must check with the league about events where they would be together.

HoopsVibe's Very Quick Call: The New Jersey Nets can attend The Wedding.

Much to the relief of the Nets organization, they have permission from league head office to go to forward Kris Humphries and celebrity Kim Kardashian's wedding.

They, of course, had to ask permission because the lockout bans teams from talking to players. Special allowances for special circumstances can be made. And apparently The Wedding of the summer is special enough.

Good for the Nets. Good for Kris. Good for Kim.

While we're at it, how about the powers that be get to talking about a new Collective Bargaining Agreement? And soon.

I'm pretty sure an NBA season is special to fans.

Most Underrated 1980s NBA Player. Vol.2 Duran Duran

For people who didn’t experience the 1980s - Madonna, Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Janet Jackson, U2, Duran Duran, George Michael/Wham, and Metallica ruled the 1980s. It was not until very late in to the decade that we heard about NWA, De La Soul, and LL Cool J. The original Street Fighter videogame was awful, but Nintendo and Super Mario ran the scene. Miami Vice was cool. Indiana Jones, Big, Back to the Future, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and E.T. blew everyone’s minds. Also, director/writer John Hughes was underrated during that era. The fashion was awful with big hair and straight men wearing makeup although the power of the mullet is forever.

Kris Humphries: My Mom is more beautiful than Kim Kardashian

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: This is the ‘hard-hitting’ news NBA fans have been waiting for.

The cameras caught New Jersey Nets power forward Kris Humphries declaring his celebrity fiancé Kim Kardashian the second most beautiful woman in the world.

For the record, Humphries believes his mom to be the most beautiful. This sounds sweet, but such a Hallmark moment might not fly with the powers that be known as the Kardashian clan.

Rumor: Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries to get reality show?

Kim and Kris have been filming different parts of their lives, including wedding prep, but their show hinges on Kris contract negotiations,” an insider close to the production tells us. “Currently he’s a free agent, but it all depends on what teams he ends up with and their rules for their players and outside commitments.”

Our source adds, “If he is given time and the okay, he and Kim will do their own show. But if his other obligations force him to not film as much, then they will just put all the stuff they’ve shot toward Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

Link

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Apparently, one reality television show starring a Kardashian sister and an NBA forward is not enough.

Like Khloe and Lamar Odom, Kim and soon-to-be husband Kris Humphries will soon get their own platform to inform, enlighten, and educate the masses on their day-to-day existence.

We are indeed lucky.

Daniel Gibson has beef with LeBron James … again

“After Miami defeated Chicago last week to advance to the NBA Finals, James talked about his decision to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. ‘I wanted to team up with some guys that would never die down in the moment,’ James said. ‘The opportunity presented itself with this great organization and we made it happen.’ Speaking on The Dugout Sports Show Podcast on Wednesday, Gibson said, ‘The way it’s said, you can’t help but take it personal. … I don’t think great players should feel the need to say this about a team or say that about a team. I think what it all boils down to if you’re great, you go play great, be great and everybody will realize you’re great. And you wouldn’t have to let it be known that everybody else was less great. Great players shouldn’t have to do that. So I feel like it’s kind of an admission. He might have needed some help. He might have needed to go somewhere and find someone who is a little greater so maybe he wouldn’t die down in those moments.’”

Link

HoopsVibe`s Very Quick Call: It`s cattier than a TMZ fallout between Hollywood socialites. And it's more dramatic than a Shakespeare play.

Daniel Gibson has beef with LeBron James.

Again.

This isn't the first time Mr. Keyshia Cole has jousted with the world`s greatest basketball player. Remember, he took issue with his former friend and teammate following The Decision.

Gibson fanned the fire by pronouncing himself the King of Cleveland, which led to a brief twitter war with James. Eventually, cooler heads prevailed.

Here`s the question: Does James care?

He`s currently the toast of the NBA. He`s playing for a championship. He made the right decision to take his talent to South Beach.

Conversely, Gibson is a fringe player. He only makes headlines when feuding with James and because of his wife.

Gibson isn't worth a response. Of course, this is the greatest slight of all.

The good and bad of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries getting engaged

Kim Kardashian is engaged to Kris Humphries after six months of dating and quite a bit of PDA. Exciting as the news is, the real shocker is that the reality star kept her megawatt engagement ring hidden for a week.

Link

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: There’s good and bad to NBA post Kris Humphries getting engaged to reality vixen Kim Kardashian, I suppose.

The good:  Kardashian will continue attending games, so ABC, ESPN, and TNT will continue panning to the beauty during games. For instance, fans got numerous shots of Eva Longoria during Spurs games before text-gate broke her and Tony Parker up.

The bad: we get more of this. Yes, Kardashian may include Humphries in her reality television show like her sister included Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom.

Is Kris Humphries succeeding because of ‘Kim Kardashian Effect’?

He also just happens to be dating reality TV star Kim Kardashian. Calling it the “Kim Kardashian Effect”, many can’t help but notice the correlation between Humphries’ success this season and his recent romance. “You know, it’s interesting. Just being around her, seeing how hard she works, and everyone in her family and what they do, it’s motivating for me,” Humphries said. “I want to be the best that I can be. I wouldn’t say it’s the only reason I’ve had a great year, but it definitely factors into that.”

Link

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Perhaps it’s her brilliant reality television show. Perhaps it’s her sensational musical talent. Perhaps it’s something else like her work ethic –yeah, that’s it, really.

Jokes aside, New Jersey Nets big Kris Humphries believes Kim Kardashian’s dedication to her craft, whatever that is, has had a positive influence on his basketball career.

After a so-so run with the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, and Dallas Mavericks, Humphries found his way with the Nets once he hooked up with the curvy celebrity.

Interestingly enough, many athletes struggle once their personal life becomes fodder for TMZ. Not Humphries, though. The opposite has occurred.

The 'Kim Kardashian Effect' has Humphries playing well, happy, and a possible candidate for Most Improved Player.
