10) Brandon Roy
WHY: He’s emerged as a franchise player. His numbers do the talking. Roy is very careful with the rock. Brandon is an all around solid guard whose numbers will rise. I’m just not sure if his assists will increase since they brought in Andre Miller.
9) Chris Bosh
WHY: He can potentially put up 23 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 85 percent from the line while making 49 percent of his shots. That’s a top 10 statistical player in my eyes.
8) Dirk Nowitzki WHY: Same as last season. Dependable, durable, and has a diverse game. The thing holding him back is the lack of defensive stats.
7) Amare Stoudemire
WHY: He can arguably be the first big man taken in any draft. The injuries are scaring me, but take a risk. Shaq is gone. Pick Stoudemire at number 7. When healthy, Amare is very scary.
6) Danny Granger
WHY: A much underrated player who gets his numbers quietly. This stud skyrocketed up 10 spots to here. He’s an 8 category player; points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks, 3 pointers, free throws, and a solid field goal percentage hovering around 44 percent. You can’t go wrong with this player right here.
5) Kobe Bryant
WHY: He’s still at his prime. Having Gasol, Ron Artest, and a healthy Bynum will help the Lakers immensely, but Kobe’s numbers will take a hit. He doesn’t have to score and rebound as much. I don’t see him averaging 30+ppg again because of the big 3 threats. He’s still super just not as super as Lebron, Wade, and Paul statistically.
4) Kevin Durant
WHY: Oh. My. Goodness. This kid is only getting started. That’s all I have to say. Don’t pass up on a kid who will average 30+ points per game in this league at number 4. He can shoot from anywhere, rebound, and get some blocks with his lengthy frame.
3) Dwayne Wade
WHY: This dude is balling out of our minds. For a 2 guard, he averages an insane amount of assists. That’s a huge plus! But then again, he also gets many turnovers. I’d take him here. Wade County is crazy. Please remember to stay healthy.
2) LeBron James
WHY: The ultimate triple double threat. He has ugly free throw percentages, but that’s the only thing that’s stopping him. He’s insanely awesome in everything else and built durable. He is today’s only hope to average a triple double for the season; number two in my book. He went down a spot from last season because he just doesn’t get steals, assists, and high free throw percentage compared to the next player….
1) Chris Paul
WHY: He does everything at an MVP level. Paul can average 24 points, 6 rebounds, 11+ assists, and 3 steals per game this year. There were some games where he was flirting with a quadruple double. A player like that has to be number one statistics wise on anyone’s list.
