Carlos Boozer. Destination: NY, Miami, or Chicago?

Carlos Boozer, the best power forward the Utah Jazz ever had since Karl Malone, has come up to ESPN Chicago radio and proclaimed that Utah management does not want him in future plans. For those who did not listen to the interview, he sounded just fine in being traded. The Verbal Agreement was openly campaigning for Miami or Chicago. This is not rumors any more. He really is getting traded. For him to go on air and confirm this means that other teams are jumping in. This is not good news for the primary suitors trying to acquire his services, but that’s the price of business.

Management told you, in a sense, that they have given up and wants to go in another direction. It’s the sports world’s saying of “I want a divorce.” Allen Iverson went through this with Philly, Shaq with the Lakers (and Kobe), and Michael Jordan with his own wife Juanita. This is tough to deal with because feelings get hurt and egos bruised. We find ways to cope and move forward. What to do now?

About time to keep options open since there’s plenty of life to live.

There should not be much doubt from many teams looking for a power forward that can consistently produce 20 points and 10 boards. A big man who can output like that should be a keeper, right? The Jazz sees the writing on the wall since they have been eliminated from the playoffs repeatedly. Last season, the Utah fans turned labeling him as “soft.” Boozer did not help his cause further by holding out on an injury until late in the season.

If I was the Jazz, I would trade him, too. The Deron Williams – Boozer era is coming to an end. There’s nothing left. This man cannot play defense and Utah fans want him out the door. Like the late great Michael Jackson sang, “Do you remember the time?” We remember when the Jazz went to the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. I thought something special was brewing. Boy, I was wrong. The team had real issues with toughness when AK 47 broke down and cried during an interview.

So which team (currently rumored) can Boozer can win with?

New York: I’m not sure about this one. They’re still crying over their much beloved Stephen Curry. There’s nothing here to work with besides Mike D’Antoni. Hey, the coach does not encourage defense. Boozer will like that, but there’s too much running involved.

Miami: Dwayne Wade is begging for help. Aside from Beasley, what else does this team have to offer? Jermaine O’Neal is a shell of himself. This squad, in its’ current form, is not deep enough either. The women, sunny weather, and beaches sure do help in getting Boozer here, but what can Miami give Utah? O’Neal? They’ll laugh out of the building. I’m sure the Jazz will want Beasley somewhere.

Chicago
: Utah fans hate Derrick Rose for his leg sweep against Deron Williams. C’mon fellas. Move on already. Deron did not get a career ending injury. He’s healed up. He’s fine. Aside from the cold weather, the Bulls have Rose, Salmons, Noah, James Johnson, Brad Miller, and Mister Softee himself, Luol Deng. Utah can get Tyrus Thomas and Kirk Hinrich.

I’m not so sure about a trade during the deadline mid season. It has to be done now. Remember, Boozer is an expiring contract. I wouldn’t want to rent a player for half a season. At least make it a full season. Before they trade him, figure out the Paul Millsap situation.

If you want to know the truth... Utah needs a 2-3, not another 4. Someone like T-Mac, Luol Deng, Michael Beasley is a stretch. If you were to ask Boozer where his home is... he would say Miami. I’m quoting him from an interview on 7/19/09. .

Carlos Boozer should come to play for the Lakers. Lamar Odom undecided status should open this option. Can you imagine Koby, Gasol, Artest, Bynum, Boozer and Fisher .

haslam isn’t good enough for booz. i’d trade for a good, young, athletic, potential all-star/all-star or do nothing at all. utah doesn’t really need to do anything. boozer is an expiring deal and worth more to the team in utah because the FULL 12.7 will be off the books in one year if we do nothing.miami fan seems to think utah is a memphis/ clipper/charlotte-style abortion of a team with bad management that would be grateful to set them up for a championship. ridiculous. there will be no gasol-like deal! haslem is not worth anywhere in the ball park of booz. it aint happening. get over yourselves miami fan. you’re almost as brain dead as knick fan with your sense of entitlement. .

Udonis? No way I would take Udonis in a Boozer deal if I were Utah. Miami has no one worth offering.Thomas of Chicago is good but inconsistant.Lee runs the floor and can play the 5 like last year.He could play along side of Milsap.Lee is the more solid and consistant player for Jerry Sloan’s pick and role system. .

Miami is a good fit for Boozer. But if im Pat Riley i’ll be damn to think twice if I’m going to get him plus his LOYALTY. .

Ya’ll are missing the point with the Boozer trade. They are getting rid of Boozer to get value back, and make room for Paul Millsap. Getting David Lee is like signing 2 Millsaps. Tyrus Thomas makes more sense, and Udonis could bring the toughness that Boozer and Okur don’t supply, as well as his contract expiring. .

"Still crying over Stephen Curry",I think the Knicks have moved on.Plus David Lee and an expiring contract for Boozer is better than anything Chicago and Miami can offer to replace a PF.The Knicks do have some young talent (Chandler,Gallinari,Nate)which Boozer can help shape.Plus D’Antoni is the best coach of the 3 teams, Chicago wanted him,and I can’t even remember Miami’s coach’s name. .

I doubt the Jazz would trade Boozer to NY if they had other options. Utah gets the Knicks’ first round draft pick next year, they would be acting against their own interests to give NY a piece that would help them win games this year. .

Yo Miami cant trade their co captin in haslem. Everygame he brings energy, n leadership. He is also rarely injuried unlike boozer. So if we make a trade for Boozer i would rather trade O’neal or Beasly... n just think Udonis n boozer on the same team. .

I would love to see boozer in Chicago but I feel the heat need him more exspecially this year with the east being so beastee and Dwayne wade contract is expiring!Miami fan are going to go crazy if Wade decides to leave but they will have to understand if he does especially after already winning a championship at such a young age. Who wouldnt want to be surrounded by talent! Look what L.A did when Kobe tried to leave! Anyway Boozer is a talent but he has no face value so utah wont get much back unless they do a sign and trade and that wont happen while teams are waitint on next year to land Labron, wade, Bosh, Dirk and Mello. If miami gets Boozer all they will give up are the expiring contract of Mark blount maybe throw in a shooter in James Jones and maybe a young guard in Dorell wright! The Bulls on the other hand would have to do a three way trade with the blazers and utah were Hinrich would go to the blazers, steve Blake and tyrus Thomas to utah and the bulls would get boozer. Which would improve each team especially with hinrich starting in portland that back court would be sick! .

I wouldnt trade Hinrich for Boozer, but Tyrus yes! You gotta deal. From the looks of it Boozer might go to Miami or Chicago. .

I agree he should go to miami. D-wade and Boozer could challenge cleveland and orlando. .

I hope he goes to Miami... this satisfies Wade in getting a co-star. This satisfies Utah in getting Millsap back and someone hardworking like Haslem or high-potential like Beasley. It could work to the Bulls, but I would prefer a Boozer - Miami deal, he already has a house there and everything. .

Boozer sucks. Please take him. Anyone. I beg you. You are getting the worst, softest player you can get for that kind of money. Not to mention selfish. Bye bye Boozer. Go ruin someone else’s team .

He didn’t say they would do that trade no name, he said Beasley’s the only one who has the value to pull off the deal. Read please. .

You have to be kidding - Beasley for Boozer? Not a chance. You’d be lucky to get Haslem and some filler. .
