Kevin Garnett is soft.

Anything is possssssssssssssible!

It has come to the NBA’s attention that KG might have turned into a trouble maker, a fire starter if you will.

“He’s nothing but an instigator,” one executive said.

I don’t think so. I prefer to KG as an unstable volatile substance of the highest order.

KG, we know you won a title. Save that “passion” for this next title run. I understand intimidating people, but you sure are picking your battles wisely. If you’re white or foreign, stay out of his way. This includes Yi Jianlian and Luke Ridnour. Is KG a bit of a racist? I see how people can view him that way. Kev, if you’re reading this, before you go punching a door out of furious anger, please keep reading.

I prefer Garnett as to bit of a clever tactician. He’s sticking to the stereotype that light skinned players are soft players.

Exhibit A

In this one, Garnett is showing that he messed with the wrong G. THE WRONG G! As one can see, the Big Ticket got shook by Anthony Peeler. He pretty much got chin checked. KG just jumped around like a clown inside a jack in the box acting like he was about to do somethin’, but he did nothin’. Dude didn’t want any of it. Last time I checked, Peeler wasn’t light skinned so he learned right there. Conclusion: Soft because he didn’t step up.

Exhibit B: KG commenting on getting herbed by Anthony Peeler.

Did he really say all that? I know you don’t have anything like that especially with the Feds watching. First you did nothin’, now you’re talkin alot of nothin’. I think he’s just trying to push more intimidation skills. You know, he’s just trying to confuse his enemies with whatever he supposedly has at home. At this point, the man’s head wasn’t right. Conclusion: Soft because you know he’s frontin’.

Let’s fast forward to current times.

Exhibit C

Unfortunately, Jose Calderon brought this upon himself with the stunt he pulled in Beijing 2008 with that silly picture. Get ’em KG. I hope you have him in your cross hairs in every game you meet him; however, finally here’s his light skinned target. On the flipside, what did Calderon show us besides being an overrated game manager? Nothing. Conclusion: Hardcore just because Calderon deserved it. Kev doesn’t respect players who don’t show the same passion like he does for defense.

Exhibit D

KG was walking up acting like he was about to do something, but David Robinson pushed him away like a little kid. Then Kev felt disrespected. The Big Ticket then pulls the "hold me back, I’m serious, I’m about to get crazy, hold me back" with his teammate. Realizing that the Admiral was out of his league, in a snap moment of clarity, he slaps Tim Duncan on the back of the head like he didn’t complete his homework assignment. Add Tim Duncan to "KG punks another white guy" list. Conclusion: Soft.

Exhibit E

Zaza was ready. KG didn’t expect him to step up. Conclusion: Even because KG didn’t walk away either.

Exhibit F

Conclusion: Hardcore. KG got another cheap shot in without getting kicked out of the game. Zaza didn’t do anything.

Some people have voiced, "Hey, lets see KG try that shit on a player like Amare Stoudemire." He already did. Here was the result.

Amare didn’t do anything in retaliation. He knew his place. This is proof that KG does go after darker skinned players, too. He’s just selective. That’s all.

I don’t get why people are getting sensitive over this. The NBA is a man’s game. Even Larry Bird and Michael Jordan were notorious for their trash talk. Dennis Rodman was crazier than KG and no one really cried. The man went after Shaq. That’s how crazy Rodman was. I don’t really care for all the antics and trash talk. It’s merely psychological warfare.

The real reason why Garnett is soft is his offensive game particularly in the 4th quarter. When he became a Celtic, he transformed into an extremely soft offensive player relying on Paul Pierce and Ray Allen to get the job done. I love KG’s defense, but I wouldn’t even look to get him the ball when it matters. He’s somewhat like Luol Deng-Chris Webber in this regard.

I know why the media calls him soft because he has a big mouth yet no bite. That maybe true, but that’s the wrong reason though. They’re overlooking his offense, which is the real truth to the matter.

"Where’s the fire when K.G. is down 20?" Artest declared in the first half of Game 4. "Watch how he goes back to huddle like a puppy. You’re either a soldier all the time or you’re not. You can’t be a part-time soldier."

I agree with Artest.

This message is only fitting for the haters hating on his psychological mindgames:

KG is soft and a piece of garbage. Pau Gasol is more professional, but he is softer. KG is what you call a prick and Gasol a pussy. .

KG is not hated because of his ring, he is hated because of his antics. If only he was professional, then he would be likable even if he wins 3 rings. Do people hate Ray Allen? Of course not because he is humble. Do people hate Tim Duncan? Of course not because he is modest. So please before you bias fan make uneducated comments like that, i advice you to keep it to yourself. .

KG sucks. I’ll pick TD over him anytime. TD is respected all over the NBA because of his professionalism. TD can do the same thing since he is better and more successful than KG, but he is a COLLEGE EDUCATED and WELL NURTURED individual. Garnett is trash, professionals should not act like that even if their millionaires or how talented they are. I will never treat people the way KG steps on them and intimidate them like they are inferior to him as human beings. .

So KG talks trash more than the average NBA player. I just don’t understand why you have to pick out specific "fights" that he has been in and then analyze them and decide whether or not he was soft. That just seems stupid to me since each guy he’s "fighting" was a goon. (He wasn’t fighting Amare that was just two competitive players going at it. You also forgot to add the highlight where KG dunks on him and then Amare picks up a T, that might have been the closest thing to a fight that whole game.) I mean seriously he never instigated any of the "fights" that you posted. Peeler elbows him in the balls first then retaliates in a way that will not get him suspended for game 7. And that whole thing with Zaza was just stupid, and I actually think he got back at him the best way possible I mean hell it was almost a clean pick. As for him being soft at the end of the game, you did mention he has hit plenty of game winners in Minnesota and of course that Cleveland game last year, but I just think historically big men usually don’t take AS many big shots. Except for that magical three pointer that Duncan nailed in the playoffs last year I don’t recall him taking many, Nash usually takes the last shot for Phoenix, and guys like Dwight Howard don’t get the ball in clutch too often either. Think back to Shaq in L.A. Kobe often got the ball at the end of the game instead. (although a lot of that had to do with Shaq’s awful free throw percentage.) I’m just saying Magic got the ball over Kareem (even as a rookie), Kevin Johnson over Barkley in 1993, it just seems that historically coaches prefer the ball in the hands of a ball handler at the end of the game. It is much easier to isolate a ball handling guard a top the key and get a last shot than it is to pound the ball into the post. Its easier to find mismatches on the perimeter than in the post as well because there is more speed and quickness involved than in the post. I really don’t think KG is soft at the end of games, after all he was still taking last shots in Minny, but why wouldn’t you always isolate P Pierce at the top of the key? He almost always beats his defender to a prefered spot on the court and then drills his jumper...I think we should all stop talking s---about KG and leave him to do that on the court every night. .

I agree that KG is soft. Most of you also stated that KG is cocky. I don’t think there is any argument there. I even see Dennis Rodman much nicer than him to be honest. I see KG much more cockier by far. If I can put a list of the most arrogant players in the NBA here is the list---1. Kevin Garnett---2. Lebron James----3. Kobe Bryant---4. Paul Pierce...5. Shaquille O’ Neal----6. Stephon Marbury----7. Deshawn Stevenson---8. Zack Randolph----9. Dwayne Wade---10. Sam Casell .

OK, KG is actually an unselfish player, as you can see he is one of the top guys at the 4 position to get like over 4 assist a game. Plus he allows Ray Allen or Pierce to take more shots than him, in order to improve a better chemistry. He is probably your more fired Tim Duncan. However, KG is and will always be a very cocky player. He is very proud of himself and therefore he uses his aggression to intimidate others. I have watched Garnett age since he entered the NBA, and what I can tell you, he aged, but NEVER matured. KG is unprofessional, arrogant, and conceited, period! I cant believe people will even question this. Yes, he is a winner and he has a ring and MVP trophy, but do you see Duncan doing the same thing, a guy much more superior as a baller and more accomplished than him? KG is KG, and KG is SOFT! .

Garnett is very unprofessional. He’s ego is even bigger because he win one ring. If he won 4 rings like Tim Duncan, he would probably be the most cockiets player in the world of sports, Of course Lebron, Paul Pierce, Shaq, and Kobe are pretty cocky and arrogant too, but I see KG worst. .

To 40inch leaper, I’m already great. It’s just some of the posters need to better their comprehension skills. Thanks for commenting though.

While KG is a great player, I wouldn’t take him over Larry Bird, Tim Duncan, or Shaq because of the stuff I noted. I do love his intimidation skills though; kinda "Dennis Rodman" in a way. .

To Masa, thanks for the enlightening comment about Calderon. Whether you like him or not, Calderon sucks on D. Sad thing? He doesn’t even try. He does the fake hustle on D crap and doesn’t have any lateral quickness. He appears like he’s playing D, but it’s an act. You fell for it. Maybe I’m not the idiot? Overrated.

To 40inchleaper, I appreciate you reading any Hoopsvibe stuff and posting anything, but please, don’t try to be the voice of reason. It’s not going to end well. One person cannot stop hate anywhere. If they want to post hate comments, let them. I welcome it. Just remember hate comments get deleted regularly depending on the words used.

To JackyJ, thanks for that ONE specific game example. It’s liberating to see a poster actually put something concrete instead of the usual negative comments that has nothing to do with the article. Despite that ONE great example you have clinging to your heart, he doesn’t do it enough to shed the label of "soft" offensive player among casual fans. Even some of the most diehard KG fans have called him out on this. Paul Pierce was the one who truly carried the Celtics to that title. Without Pierce, KG, Allen and the rest of the Celtics wouldn’t win a damn thing. So KG is still a soft offensive player. I mean, after all, you just listed ONE example. He’s a great defensive player and a "good enough" offensive player so don’t get it twisted.

As for Kindle, thanks for posting. So you think this article was unnecessary eh? So diehard KG fans and enemies alike don’t have the freedom to speak about this? Would you tell them that their opinions are unnecessary, too? Is every Hoopsvibe piece unnecessary? Does anything mean anything? Are we REALLY here? Sorry to destroy your vision of a perfect utopia, but every one has an opinion that necessarily doesn’t agree with yours. I thought you already knew this unless it was..........unnecessary.

Do I have to spoon feed everything to you guys? KG is a fine player. I like him more than Calderon that’s for certain. That doesn’t mean he has no weaknesses...because he does. If he can step up in the 4th, he could...but he just loves to defer first. Yes, he’s hit maybe 2-3 game winning shots before when he was a TimberWolf, but he rather let someone else do it and showed that throughout last years title run as they went deeper. He’ll only try to step if he’s the last resort. I personally think KG prefers to follow Paul Pierce and Ray Allen’s lead in crucial stretches. Yes, he will have his moments of course, but he doesn’t do it often.

You guys probably thought with your enlightening comments that it would make me "see the light" somehow and to take down this article.

Hahahaha TOOLS. If you’re gonna blame anyone for being a soft offensive player, blame KG and maybe even yourself. .

You really don’t know your facts...seriously you write, "The real reason why Garnett is soft is his offensive game particularly in the 4th quarter. When he became a Celtic, he transformed into an extremely soft offensive player relying on Paul Pierce and Ray Allen to get the job done." In game 1 of the Cleveland series KG had 28 points including the game winning field goal with under 20 seconds left (it was an isolation play in which he called for the ball in the huddle) and P Pierce and Ray ray didn’t even score double figures that game...KG put them on his back that night and if they would’ve lost that game they would’ve lost the series. .

Sorry this is entire article is unecessary you can go through anyone’s career and find situations like this. KG is a beast stop trying to pick at his hall of fame career. He’s one of the best all time. The reason he didn’t go after peeler was because he would have gotten suspended for game 7 of that series. Peeler was a garbage second stringer who could afford to come into the game and serve as a goon. KG was that timberwolves team therefore he had to hold back his retaliation. As for Zaza thats a similar situation. What do you want him to do, jack him in the face? Lets not even get into an argument over who would win that fight because that foreign bitch would be lying face down. He got back at him in the right way. No suspension because it was a clean pick. Soft? Who are you kidding .

Thanks for reading, guy. Every single one of you. Thanks for the comments and the hate, haters. Tell your friends how I changed your life for the better.

I’m not the only one who doesn’t see what KG is up to. I guess you guys haven’t been reading what other media writers say about him. How unfortunate.

If you guys really read my magnificent piece (doesn’t sound like you did, how disappointing) I love all the trash talking and have no problems with any of the tactics. I’m actually against what the rest of the sports writers have been writing about him. I didn’t even say KG is a racist. Please re-read the beginning before writing anything down, geniuses.

Repeat this after you read any of my pieces for the first time, "I PROMISE TO READ JOHN’S PURE PWNAGE AWESOME SUPER WRITING SKILLS MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE I POST."

And to Truth, you’re ridiculous. There ain’t gonna be no brawl of 2004. I didn’t encourage any fight or anything. I’m just appreciating this aspect of the game. It’s all entertaining competition. Maybe you’re the one who wants that huge brawl to happen again you war monger. For a person using "TRUTH" as his handle here, it’s disappointing that you respond this way. How elementary, my dear Truth. I thought you would be better than the other mortals. You can’t get at my level I suppose. No big deal. It’s not your fault. No need in beating yourself up over it.

Calderon is an overrated game manager. He can’t even play defense. Doesn’t even try and is currently ruining the Toronto Raptors. .
