Which current 2009 NBA star fell off the most?

  By John Nguyen
01.11.2009 - Updated on 01.11.2009

I’m fuckin’ done watching the Bulls LIVE on TV. Get this; their slogan is “Love it Live.” I just watched them Bulls get spanked by the Oklahoma City Thunder. There’s nothing to love watching them live. Nick Collison must have been reading one of my pieces to get his payback. Nick, you got me. Please take great comfort in destroying a team without any front court. You looked like an all star, but only against the Bulls. I will be recording Bulls games on TiVO just to see D-Lightning do his thing while opting to watch real teams compete. I’ll notice them again if John Paxson ever makes a trade that actually improves the team. As I flipped the channel checking out other games, I began to think, “Cot damn! My Bulls fell off that bad. I wonder which NBA stars around the league fell off, too?”

The candidates:

Tracy McGrady – I’m surprised he can play without crutches. He’s no longer a star yet he’s getting most of the China vote for the All Star game. This man is averaging 15.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5 assists. This is a good stat line average for a solid starter, but not for a man named Tracy McGrady. He’s usually a perennial 23+ppg scorer. I can’t believe this man is the captain for the Rockets. It’s Yao’s team. T-Mac can’t lead a team made up of buckets of piss out of the first round. His numerous injuries over the years caught up, too.

Allen Iverson – Okay, Okay. I don’t want to hear it. You know what I mean. Someone will say, “Allen Iverson is still doin’ the damn thing in Detroit.” I’ll man up. He still is, but not how he used to do it in Philly or that one season in Denver. He considerably dropped off from last season’s 26.4 ppg, 7.1 assists, 2.0 steals to 18.2 ppg, 5.6 assists, 1.7 steals. The last great season of The Answer was last season. I thank him for the all the memories he gave us, but you’re nearing the time that’s called “Father Time.” He also gained a lot of weight. He should be trade bait in all of your fantasy leagues.

Steve Nash
– You can’t get inflated numbers any more, Stevie. Last season he was getting 16.9 points and 11.1 assists. This season he’s getting 14.4 points and 8.6 assists. He’s getting numbers but not as great compared to previous years. Nash is almost 35 years old. The best years are behind him. Enjoy this season as his last “fantasy stat” worthy year. And yes, Nash has to piggyback another star to win his title. I don’t think that star is Amare though.

Jason Kidd – Ever since he rejoined Dallas, it’s difficult for him to break 10 points each game. His last 51 games in New Jersey averages were 11.3 points, 10.4 assists, 8.1 rebounds. His current averages in Dallas are 8.8 points, 8.3 assists, 6.5 rebounds. I know that his role has changed from his days in New Jersey since he doesn’t need to score. Dirk, Jet, and Josh Howard will take care of that. Jason Kidd probably does not belong in the “good” category any more let alone “great.” Well, perhaps he’s still good, but he fell off so much from what I used to see.

I picked these guys because they were superstars. They might even be All Stars this season, but they’re just not at the superstar realm any more. The men who surprised me this season are Shaquille O’Neal and Marcus Camby. I know Camby is not a star, but he is still getting monster numbers despite being 36 years old. And if any old aging star wants to maintain their All Star level, go to Phoenix. Their trainers got the magic ointment or something.

Which star fell off the most this 08-09 season for you? If he’s not listed, write him in.

True Bulls fan, you’re not a true Bulls fan. Everyone gets their fair share of hate, even me. And no, I didn’t look up Wikipedia. Stop assuming people do the things you would do.

One more thing, you mentioned Detroit and The Answer. Did you read what i wrote? Please read it again carefully. You said the same things I was expecting someone to say regarding him. Hate to break it to you, but Allen Iverson fell off. With the major decrease in stats and the age he’s at, you don’t think he fell off? .

Hey John. First off all, you can’t write to save yourself. Second, AI has put up good stats on a good team. Do you even watch Detroit? He’s still ballin. And finally you know about "Paul Shirley, Randy Brown, Brent Barry, and E-Rob", because of wikipedia. I hate "fans" like you who only insult in organization. And stop mentioning the bulls in every article, I’m a fan and I find it embarrassing. .

BTW, for the record again, I’m a bandwagon fan? If I was bandwagon Bull fan, how did I know that Paul Shirley, Randy Brown, Brent Barry, and E-Rob used to play for the Bulls? If I was a fair weather fan I wouldn’t know those guys at all. If I’m a bandwagon guy then you guys are truly not true fans of any team, let alone being a Kraptor fan.

To No name, you’re right about raptors fan.

To everyone else, what star fell off the most for you? Pick one and explain why. If he’s not on the list write him in. .

For the record, Shawn Marion was never a superstar. NEVER. I chose "superstars." Not dudes like Marion.

Shaq is still playing like a superstar. Honestly, did you think he was gonna be this good? He’s at the tail end of his career and nowhere last season did he played like this. Give it up to Shaq. He pumped up his stats compared to the previous 2 years. My dudes, you need to think.

As for the Bulls rant, i mentioned that the team fell off. Keep on reading that first paragraph. Since my bulls fell off, i turned my attention to the rest of the league and thought "what star fell off, too?" I can’t believe you guys didn’t get how I tied everything together.

For the record, the NBA star who fell off the most is TRACY MCGRADY because he’s only 29 years old. He looks like a 40 year old out there. Second place is Allen Iverson. .

Baron Davis is now Super Inconsistent, instead of a Superstar currently .

Shawn Marion is nowhere to be found. T-Mac obviously does not belong in the allstar game. Gilbert Arenas says he wont be back this year. A league with Kobe and Lebron though doesn’t need anyone else. .

For the record, kids, Jason was never "kicked off this site". If somebody told you that, they were wrong. If that’s just what you inferred, you’re wrong. .

Also what the fukc does this have to do with the bulls, no need to mention them. There is a reason J.Kelly got kicked off this site. Just trying to help you out. Which All-Star did you pick to have fallen off the most John? .

nah, seriously, going on a rant about your team losing and then degrading other teams players just because you are having a hissy fit makes you a bandwagon fan... raptors fan is right .
