After his dirty hit on Rafer Alston last night, attention turned to Matt Barnes and his tendency to put in questionable fouls every now and then. Browsing through YouTube for just a few minutes confirms that Barnes does indeed seem to have a tendency to deliver more than his fair share of cheap shots.

While I’m not sure you can judge a player on a couple of incidents, it’s hard to put the four plays that follow down to mere coincidence. Check out the clips below and let us know whether you think Matt Barnes is fast becoming the NBA’s cheap shot champion.

on 11.16.2008		 lol...this makes me laugh, Bruce Bowen is the dirtiest player in the NBA people come on...go to YouTube and look it up. For every Matt Barnes video, there are 10 of Bruce Bowen playing his style of "defense", which involves kicking people in the face, forearm shivers, and low blows...Bruce Bowen will forever be regarded as a dirty player, quite possibly the dirtiest of all time... .

on 11.16.2008		 I personally enjoyed the one against the Spurs. They are the dirtiest team in the league and have been getting away with this crap for years. Popovich’s face was priceless. He didn’t have that look on his face when Horry cheap-shotted Nash into the scorers table a few years back. .

on 11.15.2008		 that guy whose favourite word is matt has got to be out of his mind. these aren’t just hustle/enforcer type fouls. these are "i’m crap, i just got beat, i’m gonna beat up on somebody to feel better about myself fouls."they’re dangerous and theres no place for that kind of stuff in any sport let alone basketball. .

on 11.14.2008		 come on ppl matt plays hard and you know what he is not the only player that plays like that be real and you know what when you have a player like matt on your team its great because other teams know that if they do something to a player on his team that matt is going to get them back so matt makes other teams/players think twice b4 they try something so thats good for the players on matt’s team .
