NBA Game Summary - Atlanta at Utah

Salt Lake City, UT (Basketball News) - Matt Harpring poured in a season-high 30 points and grabbed seven rebounds, leading the Utah Jazz to a 95-83 win over the Atlanta Hawks at the Delta Center.

Mehmet Okur chipped in 17 points, while Andrei Kirilenko contributed 14 points and a career-high 10 assists for the Jazz, who have won just twice in their last six games. Milt Palacio added 10 points and nine assists in the win.

Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 19 points. Salim Stoudamire netted 15 points and Al Harrington had 11 for Atlanta, which has lost seven in a row to fall to just 2-16 on the season.

Okur’s basket midway through the third quarter staked Utah to a 64-56 lead. The Jazz then carried a 74-64 lead into the fourth quarter.

Harpring knocked down a jumper with 6:55 remaining in the game to give the Jazz an 86-71 cushion. The Hawks never threatened the rest of the way and suffered its sixth straight loss to Utah.

Utah led by a 29-24 score after a heavily-contested first quarter and extended its lead to 42-30 on Harping’s basket midway through the second stanza. The Hawks, however, ended the first half on an 18-7 run to pull within 49-48 at the intermission.

Okur had 14 points and Harpring added 12 at halftime, while Johnson and Harrington both scored 10 points to lead Atlanta.

Utah shot 52 percent from the floor and had a 37-29 advantage on the boards...Harpring was 13-of-17 on the night...Atlanta has lost 12 in a row at Utah and is 1-13 at the Delta Center...Utah has won 13 of the last 15 meetings with the Hawks...Utah is 3-7 at home, while Atlanta is 1-10 on the road.
