NBA Game Summary - Indiana at Atlanta

Atlanta, GA (Basketball News) - Joe Johnson scored 28 points as Atlanta defeated Indiana, 104-94, at Philips Arena.

Al Harrington posted 20 points, Tyronn Lue notched 15 points, and Marvin Williams netted 13 points for Atlanta, which snapped a two-game losing streak.

Jermaine O’Neal paced the Pacers with 24 points and eight rebounds. Stephen Jackson posted 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Indiana, which has lost three straight.

The game was knotted at 24-24 after the first quarter. Atlanta stayed close throughout the second quarter until the Pacers went on a 7-0 tear, capped by a layup by O’Neal with 10 seconds left, to take a 56-48 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, Atlanta took the lead, 66-65, on a slam by Childress from a fast-break pass by Lue at the 4:00 mark. Lue scored seven third-quarter points and his finger roll with 25 seconds left gave Atlanta a 75-71 lead heading into the fourth.

The Hawks maintained the lead through the final period and Lue hit a jumper with 1:30 left on the clock to go ahead 102-87, sealing the win for Atlanta.

Atlanta, which is 2-3 on its season-high seven-game homestand with a 2-3 record, will play Cleveland and Phoenix before heading on the road.The Hawks are 8-12 as the host this season.

The Pacers are 9-13 on the road this season. They have dropped three in a row as the visitor.

The home team has won 10 of 15 and 16 of the last 22 meetings in this series...Indiana had won four straight after losing its last three at Atlanta...This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On November 25th, Al Harrington scored 17 points, including several key shots down the stretch to beat his old team, as the Hawks defeated the Pacers, 87-85, at Conseco Fieldhouse.
