Golden State is comfortable at home

11.27.2006

(Basketball News) - Golden State plays the second of a four-game homestand on Monday, as they host the San Antonio Spurs at ORACLE Arena. The Warriors are 7-3 at home this season.

San Antonio has won seven in a row over the Warriors. The last time Golden State defeated the Spurs was at home on March 15, 2004. The Spurs have won three straight after losing their last two at Golden State.

Golden State picked up a big win in the opener of the stand. Matt Barnes scored 17 of his career-best 24 points in the third quarter and Monta Ellis added 21, as the Warriors used a balanced attack to knock off the Utah Jazz, 91-78.

Troy Murphy contributed 15 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Utah for the Warriors, while Andris Biedrins ended with 14 points and 17 boards in the victory.

The Warriors are scheduled to host Jermaine O’Neal the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday and the Milwaukee Bucks on December 2nd in the finale of the current homestand.

Indiana has lost two straight and three of its last four at Golden State, while Milwaukee has won seven of its last 11 as the visitor against the Warriors.

Two-time All-Star Baron Davis leads the Warriors in scoring (20.7 ppg) and assists (7.9 apg). Davis is hampered by strained rib cage muscle and is questionable for Monday’s game against San Antonio.

Golden State has scored over 100 points 10 times this season and is 7-3 in those contests.
