Nuggets need to win consistently

(Basketball News) - The Denver Nuggets are 28-26 and own a two-game lead over the second place Utah Jazz in the Northwest Division. They have 28 games left on the schedule, 13 at home and 15 on the road.

Denver returns from the All-Star break to host the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday at the Pepsi Center. IT is the second and final meeting of the season between the clubs. On December 13th, Carmelo Anthony poured in a career-high 42 points to pace the Nuggets to a 101-85 victory over the Bobcats at Charlotte. The Nuggets have won two straight and two of the three meetings between the squads.

The Nuggets play the finale of a two-game homestand against the Jazz. Reigning MVP Steve Nash tallied 19 points, pulled down six rebounds and dished out 12 assists to lead the Phoenix Suns to an easy 116-101 win over Denver last Wednesday at the Pepsi Center.

Anthony recorded a game-high 29 points in the loss to Phoenix for the Nuggets, who lost for the first time in three games. Andre Miller ended with 14 points and nine assists, while Marcus Camby netted 13 and pulled down seven rebounds in defeat.

Denver is 17-11 as the host this season. It has lost two of its last three at the Pepsi Center.

Anthony leads the Nuggets in scoring (26.0 ppg), while Camby is averaging a team-best 12.0 rebounds and Andre Miller has dished out a club-high 8.2 assists per game.

The Nuggets have scored over 100 points in six straight games and are 3-3 in that span.
