(Basketball News) - The Hawks suffered a disappointing 85-84 defeat at the hands of the New Jersey Nets at Philips Arena on Monday.
Al Harrington topped the Hawks with 22 points and Tyronn Lue had 17 along with 10 assists for the Hawks, who had won two of three entering the contest.
Antoine Walker also posted a double-double, ending with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Walker finished with a double-double for the eighth straight game. The forward hit just 3-of-18 from the field in the loss, but did muster 8- of-12 from the charity stripe.
Hawks guard Tony Delk (sprained left hand) is on the brink of returning from the injured list. Delk could play in Wednesday’s game against Miami at American Airlines Center.
Atlanta (7-28) remains in the cellar of the Southeast Division, 19 contests back of first place Miami.
Atlanta has a day off before taking on the Heat on the road. The Hawks also have tilts against Chicago (Friday) and Boston (Saturday) remaining this week.
