Hempstead, NY (Basketball News) - Antoine Agudio scored a team-high 18 points as the Hofstra Pride edged the VCU Rams, 60-58, in a Colonial Athletic Association contest at Hofstra Arena.
Agudio went 7-of-21 from the floor, including 4-of-11 from three-point distance, for Hofstra (14-6, 6-5,) which has won three consecutive games.
Also netting double figures for Hofstra were Carlos Rivera with 15 points and Wendell Gibson with 11 points.
Leading VCU (11-9, 7-4) was Nick George, who had a game-high 19 points on 6- of-13 shooting from the floor. Michael Doles contributed 15 points and B.A. Walker chipped in with 11 points in the loss.
VCU was leading 24-19 five minutes before the half, but Hofstra closed on an 11-5 run to go into the intermission ahead 30-29.
Hofstra came out of the locker room with a 10-2 run and never trailed in the second half, as it held on for the two-point win.
While both teams had 33 rebounds, VCU committed 19 costly turnovers.
