Salt Lake City, UT (Basketball News) - Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Denver Nuggets over the Utah Jazz, 89-83, at the Delta Center in the preseason finale for both clubs.
Anthony, who had the fourth-year option of his contract picked up by the Nuggets earlier in the day, shot 7-of-13 from the floor in 29 minutes of action.
Voshon Lenard ended with 16 points and seven rebounds for Denver, which won the final seven games of its exhibition schedule to finished the preseason 7-1. Andre Miller added 15 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Nuggets, who open the regular season on Tuesday at San Antonio.
Mehmet Okur had 17 points for the Jazz, who ended the preseason 2-5 and open the regular season on Wednesday at home against Dallas.
Rookie first-round pick Deron Williams added 12 points and seven assists for Utah.
