NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at Chicago

Chicago, IL (Basketball News) - Kirk Hinrich scored 26 points and Chicago used a big run over the game’s final five minutes to earn a 97-91 victory over Milwaukee at the United Center.

Ben Gordon scored 19 points for Chicago, which outscored the Bucks 17-5 down the stretch to record their second straight win. Luol Deng scored 12 points, while Malik Allen added 10. Tyson Chandler posted 12 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Bucks.

Michael Redd scored 30 points for Milwaukee, which lost its third straight. Charlie Bell netted 15 points, while Bobby Simmons added 14. Andrew Bogut notched 11 points and 10 rebounds and Jamaal Magloire added 11 boards for Milwaukee.

Allen made a hook shot with 58.2 seconds left to give the Bulls a 91-88 lead. Chandler then blocked a finger roll by Redd with about 46 seconds left, and Gordon drained a three from the right corner with 30.1 seconds on the clock to give Chicago a six-point lead.

Simmons responded immediately by converting a three-point play with 27.2 seconds left to cut Milwaukee’s deficit to 94-91.

Chandler blocked Ford on a finger-roll attempt down the lane, however, and Gordon scored on a breakaway backward slam with 7.8 seconds on the clock to seal the victory.

Chicago closed the first quarter with a 16-2 run sparked by a Hinrich jumper with 4:41 to go in the stanza. The Bulls led 28-19 heading into the second.

Milwaukee answered with an 18-3 run to start the quarter, capped by a Simmons free throw with 6:29 remaining that gave the Bucks a 37-31 lead. The Bucks led 52-48 at halftime.

Chicago closed the gap by two points during the third quarter, as Milwaukee took a 76-74 lead into the fourth.

The Bulls played the third of four straight games at home. They are 12-14 at home this season and are scheduled to host the always tough Detroit Pistons on Friday in the finale of the homestand.

Milwaukee, which has lost four of its last five games overall, is 10-17 on the road this season. It has dropped seven straight as the visitor. Milwaukee’s last win on the road was on January 20th at Atlanta.

Chicago and Milwaukee had their third meeting of the season. In the two previous contests, the teams split a pair of games as each club picked up a win on the road...The Bulls have won three of the last four contests in this series. Milwaukee has lost eight of 10 and nine of its last 13 at Chicago.
