Uncasville, CT (Basketball News) - Katie Douglas poured in a game-high 22 points to lead the Connecticut Sun over the Los Angeles Sparks, 64-51, at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Nykesha Sales added 16 points, while Taj McWilliams- Franklin contributed 10 points for the streaking Sun, who have won three in a row and five of six. Lisa Leslie posted a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds to pace the Sparks. Mwadi Mabika and Raffaella Masciadri each added seven points for Los Angeles, which has dropped two straight.

Final Score: Detroit 71, Charlotte 64

Auburn Hills, MI (Basketball News) - Katie Smith netted 21 points, Deanna Nolan added 17 and the Detroit Shock defeated the Charlotte Sting, 71-64, at The Palace at Auburn Hills. Ruth Riley contributed eight points for Detroit, which won its second straight and drained 5-of-7 from beyond the arc in the win. Tangela Smith led all players with a game-high 25 points for the Sting, who turned the ball over 25 times and lost for 11th time in their last 12 games. Sheri Sam added 13 points in the setback.

Final Score: Minnesota 76, San Antonio 72

Minneapolis, MN (Basketball News) - Stacey Lovelace scored 17 points, Vanessa Hayden recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards and the Minnesota Lynx edged the San Antonio Silver Stars, 76-72, at the Target Center. Tamika Williams added 11 points off the bench for the Lynx, who have won two in a row. Marie Ferdinand and Edna Campbell each netted 17 points, while Shyra Ely scored 10 points for San Antonio, which has dropped three straight.

Final Score: Seattle 71, Houston 68

Seattle, WA (Basketball News) - Lauren Jackson scored 27 points to lead the Seattle Storm past the Houston Comets, 71-68. Seattle, which moved ahead of Houston into second place in the Western Conference, overcame a career-high 34 points by the Comets’ Sheryl Swoopes. Houston has dropped three straight.
