|
(Basketball News) - The Denver Nuggets used a balanced scoring attack to earn a 94-86 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at the Pepsi Center on Wednesday evening.
Andre Miller had 17 points and eight assists to lead six Nuggets in double figures. Carmelo Anthony had 13 points and 11 rebounds, but shot only 2-of-11 from the field. Francisco Elson added 15 points to go along with eight assists, as the Nuggets won for the third time in four games.
Voshon Lenard added 14 points for Denver, while Earl Boykins and Jon Barry each netted 10.
Denver squandered a 19-point halftime advantage, and led just 72-67 heading into the final period. Milwaukee hung tough, and pulled into an 81-81 tie on a Michael Redd basket with five minutes to play.
But the Nuggets went on a 11-2 run to effectively put the game out of reach, as the Bucks couldn’t get closer than six the rest of the way.
The Nuggets, who improved to 4-1 at home this season, have won two straight over the Bucks. Denver has also dominated the Bucks at home, winning 27 of 33 all-time meetings in Colorado.
Denver ends a brief two-game homestand Friday night when it welcomes the Washington Wizards to the Pepsi Center.
