Hawks visit Orlando

(Basketball News) - The Atlanta Hawks open a brief two-game road trip tonight, as they visit the Orlando Magic at TD Waterhouse Centre.

The Hawks have dropped three straight games. On Saturday, All-Star Dirk Nowitzki posted a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds and Jason Terry netted 26, as the Dallas Mavericks rolled past Atlanta, 98-83, at Philips Arena.

Al Harrington led the Hawks with 19 points in the loss to Dallas, while Joe Johnson netted 17 and rookie Marvin Williams posted his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 boards for Atlanta, which has lost seven of its last eight games overall.

Atlanta is 7-26 on the road this season. The Hawks are scheduled to visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.

The Magic enter today’s contest on a two-game winning streak. Jameer Nelson scored 19 points and dished out seven assists as Orlando defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 102-86, at the Wachovia Center on Friday to snap a franchise-record 16-game road losing streak.

Dwight Howard posted a double-double with 15 points and 19 rebounds for the Magic, who last posted a road victory on January 26th against this same Sixers club. Carlos Arroyo added 16 points off the bench in the win.

Orlando is 19-14 as the host this season. The Magic have win five in a row at TD Waterhouse Centre.

This is the third meeting of the season between the clubs. In the two previous contests, the Hawks defeated Orlando twice at Philips Arena.

Atlanta has lost two straight and 10 of its last 11 at Orlando.

Orlando is scheduled to host the Hawks on April 10th at TD Waterhouse Centre.
