(Basketball News) - The Miami Heat were blown out on Sunday by the Los Angeles Lakers, 99-77, at Staples Center.
Lamar Odom scored 18 to lead Miami, which has lost eight of its first 10 games.
The Lakers increased a 17-point halftime lead to 26 with an eight-point surge in the third quarter. Leading 59-41, Devean George buried a jumper to start the run and Shaquille O’Neal muscled inside for a basket to give Los Angeles a 67-41 cushion with just over five minutes to play in the quarter.
Los Angeles took a 76-58 lead in the fourth quarter and cruised to the easy 22-point win.
Miami finished 0-for-12 from beyond the arc and was 19-of-34 from the charity stripe.
The Heat are off until Tuesday when they begin a four-game road trip in Seattle.
