Atlanta Hawks Team Report - December 4 12.4.2004
|
(Basketball News) - A pair of struggling teams will take to the court this evening, as the New Jersey Nets host the Atlanta Hawks at the Meadowlands.
The Hawks saw their slide continue on Friday night, when they were handed a 114-90 setback by the Washington Wizards. Larry Hughes scored 19 points to lead Washington to the blowout win at Philips Arena.
Antoine Walker scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 11 boards for the Hawks, who have dropped a season-high eight straight contests. Al Harrington had 16 points in the setback.
Atlanta’s current losing streak is its longest since the franchise dropped 10 in a row from February 20-March 9, 2001.
Tonight’s game between the Hawks and Nets marks the first meeting of the season. Last year, New Jersey won three of four matchups and has taken six of eight and 10 of the last 15 encounters. Also, Atlanta has not played well at the Meadowlands, losing six straight and 12 of its last 14 at Continental Airlines Arena.
