Los Angeles, CA (Basketball News) - Chauncey Billups scored 25 points and dished out eight assists, as the Detroit Pistons continued their best start in franchise history with a 109-101 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
Richard Hamilton added 23 points and Ben Wallace totaled 13 points and 12 rebounds for Detroit, which bolted to a 14-point halftime lead and won its sixth straight contest to move to 15-2 this season.
Rasheed Wallace tallied 10 points and seven rebounds for the Pistons, who have won six in a row versus the Clippers.
Billups made 4-of-5 three-pointers for Detroit, which went 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. However, the Pistons made just 25-of-45 free throws.
Elton Brand had 36 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Clippers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Chris Kaman added 16 points, Cuttino Mobley scored 14 and Sam Cassell had 13 for Los Angeles.
