NBA Game Summary - Milwaukee at Memphis

Memphis, TN (Basketball News) - Pau Gasol had a game-high 33 points and 14 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 100-90, at FedEx Forum.

Chucky Atkins posted 16 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, and six assists and Lorenzen Wright totaled 11 points and 10 boards for the Grizzlies, who have won three in a row and are a half-game behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the fourth spot in the Western Conference playoff race.

Michael Redd contributed 25 points and Andrew Bogut scored 18 points for the Bucks, who have lost three straight and four of their last five contests. Milwaukee is 2 1/2 games behind the Washington Wizards, who lost to the Atlanta Hawks, for the fifth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

With the game tied at 33, Memphis went on an 18-6 run, including 10 points from Gasol, to move in front 51-39.

The Grizzlies outscored the Bucks 34-18 in the second quarter and led 58-45 at the half.

Milwaukee opened the third quarter with a 13-4 surge, capped by a trio of Redd free throws, to cut the deficit to 62-58. Memphis held a 79-72 advantage heading into the final frame.

After being down by as many as 13, the Bucks fought their way back into the game with a 9-2 rally, highlighted by Redd’s jumper, to tie the game at 81 with just under six minutes to play.

However, Atkins drained a three-pointer on the other end to begin a 16-7 run, which gave the Grizzlies a commanding 97-88 lead with 45 seconds to play. Atkins netted nine points during the streak and Gasol added six.

Bogut hit a jumper on the other end to narrow the gap to 97-90 but that was as close as the Bucks would get.

Milwaukee led 27-24 after 12 minutes of play.

The Grizzlies shot 52.8 percent from the floor, while the Bucks connected on 38.4 percent of their shots, including 17-of-22 from the charity stripe...Milwaukee’s Charlie Bell finished with 15 points...The Grizzlies have won six of the last eight meetings...Memphis’ Mike Miller had 12 points and seven boards, while Shane Battier and Bobby Jackson each netted 10.
