Chantelle Anderson traded to Silver Stars

San Antonio, TX (Basketball News) - The San Antonio Silver Stars acquired center Chantelle Anderson from Sacramento on Wednesday. In exchange, the Monarchs will receive San Antonio’s first round pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft. The trade will not become official until Anderson passes a physical.

Anderson, the second overall pick in the 2003 draft, has struggled in her first two professional campaigns. Last year she played in 30 games and averaged just 2.6 points and 1.1 rebounds in only 7.7 minutes per contest.

For her career, the 6-6 Vanderbilt product has posted 2.1 points and 1.0 boards in 56 games.

Anderson finished her collegiate career as the all-time leading scorer in school history with 2,604 points and is the Commodores’ all-time leader in field goal percentage (65 percent).
