Bobcats, Wizards wrap up home-and-home set 03.15.2006

(Basketball News) - The Charlotte Bobcats and Washington Wizards play the finale of a home-and-home set tonight at the Verizon Center.
Charlotte has lost all three contests at Washington in this series.
On Tuesday, Antawn Jamison matched his season-high with 35 points and Gilbert Arenas netted 34, as the duo pushed the Wizards past the Bobcats, 119-114, at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
Jamison also grabbed 16 rebounds, while Arenas dished out seven assists in Tuesday’s victory. Caron Butler added 25 points and eight rebounds for the Wizards, who won their second straight game.
Washington improved to 6-1 lifetime versus Charlotte and snapped a three-game road losing streak with the victory.
Charlotte had seven players in double figures led by Jumaine Jones’ 18 points and five boards. Raymond Felton contributed 17 points, while Gerald Wallace added 15 points and six rebounds in the loss.
Brevin Knight ended with 13 points and eight assists for the Bobcats, who lost their second straight contest. Matt Carroll scored 11 and Melvin Ely and Primoz Brezec contributed 10 points apiece.
The Wizards play the first of a four-game homestand this evening. They are a solid 22-11 as the host and will also play Dallas, Chicago and New Jersey on the stand.
Washington is the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Wizards trail No. 5 Indiana by one-half game.
Charlotte is a dismal 6-27 as the visitor this season. The Bobcats have dropped two straight on the road.
