(Basketball News) - The Boston Celtics try to get back on the winning track tonight, as they host the lowly New Orleans Hornets at the FleetCenter.
Last season, the Hornets swept their four contests with the Celtics. Overall, the Hornets have won five of the last six games between the teams. The Hornets have won six of their last eight at Boston.
The Celtics fell to the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, 100-88, at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Rookie Tony Allen scored a career-high 18 points off the bench for the Celtics, who have dropped four of five. Jiri Welsch and Paul Pierce netted 14 and 13 in defeat.
Boston, which has lost five straight on the road and is just 5-12 away from home this season, has yielded over 100 points in each of its last 11 contests.
Pierce has scored in double-digits in 29 of Boston’s 30 games this season. He leads the team in scoring (21.8 ppg) and is second in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and assists (3.9 apg).
The Celtics, who have won three straight at home, are 8-5 as the host this season.
