07.28.2006

Lake Charles, LA (Basketball News) - McNeese State announced Friday that Tic Price will no longer coach the men’s basketball team. The move becomes effective Monday, July 31.

"Athletic director Sonny Watkins said that McNeese thanks coach Price for his contributions to the men’s basketball program and the community and wishes him well," the school said in a brief statement.

Price has been the head coach for the last five seasons. The Cowboys finished 14-14 last year, losing their final four games. He went 74-68 in his five seasons at the school.

Price’s 2001-02 team won the Southland Conference Tournament title and played in the NCAA tournament. Price’s teams won a record 27 straight home games at Burton Coliseum.

Price also coached at New Orleans and Memphis. His career coaching record stands at 167-122.
