=== Denver Nuggets Team Report - February 16 ===

(Basketball News) - The Denver Nuggets visit the reeling Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday at Charlotte Coliseum. This will be the first-ever meeting between these teams.

Denver has split the first four of its five-game road trip which concludes on Wednesday. The Nuggets registered a 100-96 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena on Tuesday night. Carmelo Anthony hit a jumper with .09 seconds left to provide the Nuggets with their first win in Atlanta in over 16 years. Anthony finished with 22 points, while Marcus Camby added 17 with 10 rebounds in the win. Denver hadn’t won in Atlanta since 1988.

Denver, which trailed by 15 in the third quarter, also got 16 points and 11 boards from Kenyon Martin and 16 points from DerMarr Johnson. Earl Boykins tacked on 12 points and six assists in the contest.

The Nuggets shot 45.8 percent from the field, including 3-of-11 (.273) from three-point range. Denver also hit 21-of-30 (.700) from the free throw line, while outrebounding the Hawks, 42-37. The Nuggets limited their turnovers to 13 in the contest.

Nuggets guard Greg Buckner left in the second period with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Buckner is listed as doubtful for Wednesday’s game.

Denver is 9-19 on the road this year and 4-2 against the Southeast Division. The Nuggets are also 15-8 versus the Eastern Conference.

The Nuggets will resume their season after the All-Star break on Wednesday, February 23rd at home against the Boston Celtics. It will be the second and final meeting of the 2004-05 campaign between the clubs. On December 15th, Denver defeated the Celtics, 100-99, at the FleetCenter.

Anthony has scored in double-digits in six straight games and has averaged 19.7 points and 6.2 rebounds in that span. The Syracuse product has recorded just two double-doubles this season.
