On Wednesday, Damon Stoudamire led a balanced attack with 26 points and seven assists, and Mike Miller added 24 points and eight rebounds to power the Grizzlies to a 115-103 victory over the Phoenix Suns at America West Arena.
Shane Battier contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Phoenix, while Pau Gasol added 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Grizzlies, who have won three straight and are off to their best start in franchise history.
The Grizzlies are scheduled to visit the Denver Nuggets on Sunday at the Pepsi Center in the finale of the swing. They are 3-2 on the road this season.
Utah opens a brief two-game homestand tonight. On Friday, Eddie House scored a career-high 31 points, including seven three-pointers, as the Phoenix Suns defeated the Jazz, 102-94, at America West Arena.
Mehmet Okur scored 29 points in the loss to the Suns for Utah, while rookie guard Deron Williams netted 21 for the Jazz, who have lost four straight games overall.
The Jazz shot just 42 percent on Friday, but received solid contributions off the bench from Kris Humphries, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Devin Brown, who posted 11 points.
Utah, which will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, is 1-2 at the Delta Center this season.
The Grizzlies have lost seven of their last 10 at Utah. The home team has won six of nine and 10 of the last 14 contests in this series.
