Garcia suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during this past Sunday’s contest against Washington. He had just returned to the lineup after missing seven games with a strained left groin.
In eight contests this season, Garcia averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 assists per game.
The 24-year-old Garcia played for San Antonio during the 2003-04 campaign, but missed the first 33 games of the season with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot. He then played in two contests before missing the final 47 games because a right knee contusion.
