(Basketball News) - The Rockets pulled off an unlikely 81-80 victory over the San Antonio Spurs thanks to Tracy McGrady on Thursday night at the Toyota Center.
McGrady capped an incredible comeback with a game-winning three-pointer with 1.7 seconds left in the contest, lifting the Houston Rockets to an improbable 81-80 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
McGrady, who scored 13 points in the last 34 seconds, finished with 33 points and eight rebounds for the Rockets, who overcame a 76-64 deficit with less than a minute to go in the game. Yao Ming contributed 27 points and 10 rebounds in the win — Houston’s third in a row. No other Rocket registered in double-figures in the contest.
Houston also ended a seven-game losing streak versus San Antonio. Houston made 35 percent of its shots, while holding a 45-42 edge on the boards.
The Rockets have a day off before hosting another Lonestar State rival in Dallas on Saturday.
