(Basketball News) - Yao Ming scored 27 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a 112-109 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday at the Target Center.
Steve Francis added 25 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Rockets, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Cuttino Mobley contributed 18 points in the win. Houston shot 50 percent from the field (38-of-76) and made 26-of-29 from the free-throw line (90 percent).
This marked the first time in the last seven meetings that the visitor won.
Yao finished 9-of-16 from the floor and 9-of-9 from the foul line. He has scored in double figures in 12 straight contests.
Francis has averaged 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists in his last four games.
The Rockets are off until Sunday when they host the Dallas Mavericks. It will be third meeting of the season between the two squads, as the Mavs won the pervious two contests, which were both at Dallas.
