01.6.2006

Cleveland, OH (Basketball News) - Cleveland Cavaliers guard Larry Hughes underwent successful surgery on his fractured right finger Friday morning.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Lawton at the Cleveland clinic. Hughes is expected to remain sidelined for about eight weeks.

Hughes underwent further examinations on Wednesday morning when the fracture was found. He originally hurt the finger during the preseason, but started 28 games for Cleveland.

The 26-year-old Hughes is the Cavs’ second-leading scorer, averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists a game.
