Jazz welcome Timberwolves to Delta Center

03.8.2006

(Basketball News) - The Utah Jazz go for their second straight victory when they welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Delta Center.

This is the third meeting of the season between the Northwest Division rivals. The teams split the first two games, as both clubs picked up a win on the road.

The Timberwolves have won two straight and three of their last four at Utah.

Minnesota is scheduled to host the Jazz on April 7th at the Target Center in the fourth and final meeting of the campaign between the squads.

The Jazz play the middle contest of a three-game homestand. On Monday, Andrei Kirilenko netted 18 points, pulled down nine rebounds, dished out five assists and blocked six shots to lead Utah to a 90-85 win over the Orlando Magic at the Delta Center.

Mehmet Okur added a game-high 22 points to go along with seven rebounds in the win over Orlando for the Jazz, who have won two of their last three games overall. Rookie Deron Williams tallied 15 points, while Jarron Collins scored 12 in the victory.

Utah is 15-15 at the Delta Center this season. The Jazz are scheduled to host Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday in the finale of the current homestand.

Minnesota, meanwhile, will open a season-high six-game road trip tonight versus the Jazz.

On Tuesday at the Target Center, Kevin Garnett had 15 points and 21 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who had a two-game winning streak stopped.

The Timberwolves have lost five of six and 15 of their last 18 games away from home. They are 8-19 on the road in 2005-06.
