Los Angeles Clippers Team Report - January 31 01.31.2004
|
(Basketball News) - The Los Angeles Clippers fell to the Miami Heat, 97-88, on Friday at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Elton Brand posted 23 points and 15 boards in defeat, as the Clippers lost the seventh road game in their last eight tries. Quentin Richardson added 17 points and Corey Maggette netted 16 before fouling out.
The Clippers ultimately did themselves in by turning the ball over 17 times in the second half — one less than the Heat had all game. The 17 giveaways came after Los Angeles only turned the ball over seven times in the first 24 minutes.
"It is not hard to analyze the turnovers and the second half did us in," Los Angeles head coach Mike Dunleavy said. "There is no way you win on the road with that many turnovers."
Marko Jaric added 10 points for the Clippers, who dropped to 4-14 on the road.
The Clippers visit Tracy McGrady and the Orlando Magic tonight.
