Pistons go for sixth straight win

The Pistons are in second place in the Central Division, 7 1/2 games behind first-place Indiana. New Jersey is 11 games ahead of the New York Knicks and Miami Heat in the Atlantic.

This will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two squads. The teams split a pair of games in Detroit, while New Jersey defeated the Pistons, 89-78, on February 10 at the Meadowlands.

Detroit comes into tonight’s game well rested. On Sunday, Corliss Williamson scored 16 points off the bench to lead the Pistons to an 85-69 win over the Philadelphia 76ers at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Rasheed Wallace contributed 14 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons, who earned their fifth straight win and ninth in their last 10 overall. They also extended their NBA record by allowing less than 70 points for the fifth straight game.

Williamson has scored in double digits in five straight games. He has averaged 13.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in that span.

The Pistons, who have won three straight and six of their last seven as the visitor, are a respectable 20-15 on the road this season.

On Tuesday, Kerry Kittles poured in 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead New Jersey to a 94-77 win over the Sacramento Kings at Continental Airlines Arena.

Rodney Rogers added 20 points and Richard Jefferson contributed 19 for the Nets, who have won three of their last four games. Jason Kidd added a game- high 13 assists and grabbed eight rebounds in the win.

New Jersey is 24-9 at home this season.

Detroit has won five of the last eight contests with the Nets. The Pistons have lost two straight after winning their last five at New Jersey.
