(Basketball News) - Bob Sura scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Atlanta Hawks to an 84-76 win over the New Orleans Hornets on Thursday at Philips Arena.
Sura recorded his sixth double-double of the season and 12th of his career, as Atlanta ended a three-game losing streak and, for now, avoided its first 50- loss season since 2000-01.
Chris Crawford and Jason Collier each finished with 16 points for the Hawks, who won for only the sixth time in 21 games.
Atlanta shot 46 percent from the floor in the victory.
The Hawks are off until Saturday when they host the Chicago Bulls. It will be the third meeting of the season between the squads, as each club has picked up a victory on its homecourt in the two previous contests. The teams will play again on April 9th at the United Center.
Sura has averaged 15 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists in his last 10 games.
