Fort Worth, TX (Basketball News) - Drake Diener scored 12 points in leading the DePaul Blue Demons to a 61-54 victory over the TCU Horned Frogs in a Conference USA tilt from Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Marcus Heard was the only other DePaul (10-6, 3-2 C-USA) player to finish in double figures, knocking in 10 points and grabbing five rebounds.
Marcus Shropshire paced the Horned Frogs (6-10, 2-3) in defeat, scoring 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting from behind the arc.
Corey Santee added 12 points and six assists in the losing effort, while Nucleus Smith finished with 10 points despite shooting just 2-of-10 from the field.
DePaul was able to connect on 48.1 percent of its shots from the field in the first half and held a 31-26 advantage heading into the locker rooms.
TCU converted only 4-of-18 long range attempts in the second stanza, allowing the Blue Demons to escape with the seven-point victory.
The Horned Frogs shot 8-of-30 from three-point land and made just 10-of-20 free throw attempts, while also turning the ball over 14 costly times.
