Boston exercises option on C Perkins

Boston, MA (Basketball News) - The Boston Celtics exercised the fourth-year option on center Kendrick Perkins, the team announced Saturday.

A first-round pick in the 2003 draft, Perkins is under contract with Boston until the 2006-2007 season.

In 60 games for Boston last season, Perkins averaged 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 9.1 minutes per outing.
