New York has won two in a row after Friday’s 100-76 victory over the Miami Heat. The Knicks took advantage of a Shaquille O’Neal-less Miami squad, as Jamal Crawford came off the bench to score 19 points at American Airlines Arena.
Steve Francis scored 14 points for the Knicks, while Eddy Curry scored 13 points and David Lee added 12.
Boston, meanwhile, notched its second straight win after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, 118-90, on Friday night at TD Banknorth Garden.
Paul Pierce poured in a game-high 29 points and Delonte West scored 13 of his 17 points in a dominating fourth quarter by Boston. Pierce finished 10-of-19 shooting and grabbed six rebounds.
Wally Szczerbiak added 19 points, while Sebastian Telfair tallied 15 and dished out seven assists in the win.
Boston won three of four games against the Knicks last season and has won seven of the last nine meetings.
The Celtics have also won two in a row and four of its last five trips to historic Madison Square Garden.
