(Basketball News) - The Bobcats will go for their first-ever three- game win streak this evening, when they host the New Jersey Nets at Charlotte Coliseum.
Charlotte has won back-to-back games, including a huge 94-92 victory over the Miami Heat at home on Saturday night. Primoz Brezec scored 12 of his career- high 27 points in the fourth quarter to anchor the Bobcats to the stunning win.
Brezec added a team-high 11 rebounds for the Bobcats, who won for just the fourth time in 18 games. Gerald Wallace added 17 points and seven rebounds for the Bobcats and Emeka Okafor scored 12 before spraining his left ankle with 3:32 remaining in the third quarter. Okafor is listed as questionable for tonight’s contest.
Brevin Knight collected a game-high 16 assists to go along with five points. Knight is ranked second in the league in assists (8.8 apg) and first in assist/turnover ratio (4.22). The Stanford product has at least 15 assists in each of the last three contests.
The Bobcats shot 45.8 percent from the field, including 4-of-9 (.444) from three-point range. Charlotte hit 14-of-19 (.737) from the free throw line and was outrebounded, 46-40, in the contest.
Charlotte forward Keith Bogans missed the game because of back spasms. Bogans is listed as questionable for this evening’s contest.
Charlotte, which is in the midst of a four-game homestand, has still lost nine of 13 and 14 of its last 19 home games. The Bobcats own a 12-22 mark within their friendly confines this season.
Following tonight’s contest, the Bobcats will have a day off before hosting the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Charlotte will also host Toronto on Friday before heading to Chicago on Saturday.
