(Basketball News) - All-Star Kenyon Martin had 18 points and Carmelo Anthony scored 17 to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 95-83 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday at the Pepsi Center.
Andre Miller added 15 points and seven assists for the Nuggets, who ended a five-game losing streak. Nene tallied 10 points off the bench for Denver, which won for only the second time in 13 contests.
Marcus Camby had eight points and 15 rebounds in Wednesday’s victory for the Nuggets, who are 1-2 versus the Lakers this season. Denver’s bench outscored the Lakers’ reserves, 33-19.
Martin has scored in double-digits in 15 straight games. In 33 games played, Martin is averaging 15.4 points and 8.0 rebounds in his first season with the Nuggets.
The Nuggets are off until Friday when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves. On November 4th, Denver defeated the Timberwolves, 94-92, in overtime at the Pepsi Center. In the 2004 playoffs, Minnesota eliminated the Nuggets in five games in the first round.
Denver and the Timberwolves are also scheduled to play on February 9th and April 8th. Both games will be played at the Target Center.
