Detroit Pistons Team Report - March 28 03.28.2004

(Basketball News) - Tayshaun Prince scored a game-high 20 points to lead Detroit over New York, 100-85, on Saturday at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Richard Hamilton netted 18 points and Ben Wallace tallied 12 points and 12 boards for the Pistons, who stopped a small two-game slide. The Pistons are firmly locked in second place in the Central Division, seven games behind the idle Indiana Pacers.
The Pistons started the game on a 12-2 run and never looked back on the wire- to-wire victory. Prince scored seven points in that early spurt including a dunk to cap it off with 8:05 remaining in the first quarter.
All the news was not good, though, as forward Rasheed Wallace missed the game with a sore back. He is listed as day-to-day.
Detroit, which opened a six-game homestand last night, has won five straight as the host and is 25-10 in its arena this season.
The Pistons will return to action on Wednesday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.
