(Basketball News) - The Detroit Pistons host Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers tonight at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Detroit suffered its first loss on Friday, as Chris Bosh netted 18 points and Loren Woods compiled 17 points and a career-high 14 rebounds to lift Toronto to a 101-89 victory over the Pistons at Air Canada Centre.
Chauncey Billups and Hamilton each poured in 24 points for the defending World Champion Pistons, who opened the season Tuesday with a 87-79 win over Houston. Ben Wallace nearly racked up a triple-double in defeat, ending with 10 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Detroit head coach Larry Brown will once again not be in attendance, as the 64-year-old is recovering from recent hip surgery which will keep him away for at least one week. Assistant coach Gar Heard is running the club in Brown’s absence.
After tonight’s contest the Pistons go on the road for a three-game trip. They will visit the Los Angeles Clipers, Denver Nuggets and the Utah Jazz.
In 2003-04, the Pistons and Sixers split four games as each squad won once at home and once on the road. Overall, Philadelphia has won four of the last seven meetings in this series. The Sixers have lost two of their last three at Detroit.
