Hawks, Sixers square off in Philly

04.8.2007

(Basketball News) - The Philadelphia 76ers will continue their three-game homestand tonight when the Atlanta Hawks pay a visit to the Wachovia Center.

Philadelphia has lost three of its last five games and suffered a 94-85 setback to the Toronto Raptors on Friday in the opener of the stand. Andre Iguodala had a team-high 20 points with seven boards and seven assists for Philadelphia, which is 4 1/2 games behind Orlando for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

Samuel Dalembert finished with 15 points, Willie Green had 12 and Andre Miller chipped in 10 points and 11 assists for the Sixers. Philly will also host Indiana on the homestand and is 19-18 at the Wachovia Center this season.

Atlanta, meanwhile, ended a lengthy seven-game losing streak with Friday’s 115-102 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Philips Arena.

Josh Smith poured in 28 points and ripped down a career-high 18 boards, as the Hawks won for just the second time in 11 tries. Salim Stoudamire knocked down 7-of-11 three pointers and finished with 21 points off the bench in the win.

The Hawks, though, have lost 10 in a row on the road with their last win as the visitor coming on February 14 against the Los Angeles Clippers. They are 12-26 away from Georgia this season.

In injury news for Atlanta, Stoudamire (leg/wrist) is probable for Sunday’s game at Philly and center Zaza Pachulia (ankle) is listed as questionable.

Sunday’s game between Atlanta and the 76ers is the fourth and final meeting of the regular season. Philadelphia is 2-1 in the series and has won three of four and seven of the last nine encounters.

Atlanta has lost six straight after winning its last two in the City of Brotherly Love.
