Heat continue road swing at Sacramento

This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Heat are scheduled to host Sacramento on January 22, 2006 at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Miami enters tonight’s game on a two-game winning streak. On Wednesday, Jason Williams scored 21 points and handed out nine assists, as the Heat crushed the Atlanta Hawks, 96-74, at Philips Arena.

All-Star Dwyane Wade finished with 20 points in the victory over the Hawks for Miami, while Alonzo Mourning posted 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Heat, who have won seven of their last 10 games overall.

Veteran Gary Payton chipped in 13 points for Miami, which has defeated the Hawks eight straight times and last lost to Atlanta on November 28, 2003.

The Heat are 2-4 on the road this season. They will also visit the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers and the world champion San Antonio Spurs on the current swing.

Sacramento tries to get back on the winning track as it opens a four-game homestand. On Wednesday, Jason Richardson poured in a season-high 33 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out six assists as the Golden State Warriors knocked off the Kings, 113-106, at The Arena in Oakland.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim had a season-high 24 points and Bonzi Wells netted 23 and pulled down eight rebounds in the loss to Golden State for the Kings, who had their three-game winning streak halted. Mike Bibby scored 20 points in the loss.

The Kings are 6-3 at ARCO Arena this season. Sacramento will host Kevin Garnett and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, while Cleveland and Houston will visit the Kings on December 6 and 8.

The home team has won six of the last seven meetings in this series. Miami has dropped eight of its last 12 at Sacramento.
