Salt Lake City, UT (Basketball News) - The Utah Jazz announced Monday that the club has agreed to three-year contracts with its two first-round selections in last month’s NBA Draft, Kris Humphries and Kirk Snyder.
According to the league’s rookie salary structure, Humphries’ deal will be worth $3.98 million and Snyder’s $3.59 million. The Jazz also possess an option for a fourth year on both players.
Humphries was taken with the 14th overall pick after playing just one season at the University of Minnesota. The 6-9 forward was named the 2003-04 Big Ten Freshman of the Year after averaging 21.7 points and 10.1 rebounds for the Golden Gophers.
Utah selected Snyder 16th overall after a sensational junior campaign at Nevada. The 6-6 shooting guard earned Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors last season after compiling 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per outing. Snyder also led the Wolf Pack to a pair of victories in the 2004 NCAA Tournament.
