Kings march into San Antonio

San Antonio leads the Dallas Mavericks by 2 1/2 games for first place in the Southwest Division and for the top spot in the Western Conference.

The Spurs enter tonight’s contest on a four-game winning streak. On Tuesday, Manu Ginobili scored 26 points, including 4-of-6 from three-point range, as San Antonio knocked off the Utah Jazz, 95-86, at the Delta Center.

Tony Parker scored 23 points and dished out eight assists, while Michael Finley added 13 points and Tim Duncan chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds in the win over Utah for the Spurs, who have won 10 of their last 12 games overall.

San Antonio is an impressive 31-4 at home this season. The Spurs will also host Dallas, Memphis, Seattle and Orlando on the current stand.

The Kings are No. 8 in the West and lead the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets by two games for the final playoff berth in the conference.

Sacramento, which plays the middle contest of a three-game road trip, attempts to get back on the winning track. Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points as Dallas shot a sizzling 61.3 percent from the field and downed the Kings, 127-101, on Tuesday at American Airlines Center.

Bonzi Wells scored 30 points in the loss to Dallas for the Kings, who had a three-game winning streak halted. Ron Artest netted 19, while Mike Bibby and Kevin Martin ended with 11 points apiece.

The Kings are 14-24 on the road this season. The will visit the Clippers on Friday at the Staples Center.

This is the third and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs. The Spurs won the two previous contests, as they picked up wins at home and on the road.

The Spurs have won four in a row in this series, while Sacramento has lost four straight at San Antonio.
