Bryant, who led the Lakers to a perfect 3-0 mark this past week, averaged 35.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in those three contests.
He started the week with 36 points in 37 minutes in a 115-91 triumph over the Sacramento Kings on March 24. Two nights later, Bryant netted 35 points and added nine boards in a 90-73 win over the Timberwolves.
Bryant finished the week with a 34 point, six rebound and four assist effort in a 91-84 win over the Jazz on Sunday night.
Artest guided the Pacers to a 4-0 mark this past week, recording 22.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.5 steals in those four games. Artest’s week was highlighted with 20 points and eight rebounds in a 115-91 rout over Dallas. He also tied a team record with eight steals in the win.
He finished the week with a monster game against Orlando. He posted a career high in points with 35, hauling down seven boards with five assists and three steals in a 107-92 win over the Magic.
Golden State’s Erick Dampier, Houston’s Yao Ming, Miami’s Lamar Odom and Dwyane Wade, Philadelphia’s Kenny Thomas and Portland’s Damon Stoudamire were also considered for the awards.
