Krystkowiak’s Bucks host red-hot Spurs

Tony Parker scored 25 points and Tim Duncan finished with 19 points and nine rebounds as the Spurs won their 13th straight game, 93-84, over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday at the AT&T Center.

Manu Ginobili scored 16 points and grabbed seven boards in the win over the Clippers for the Spurs, while Michael Finley netted 13 in the victory.

The Spurs, who are the third seed in the Western Conference playoff race, franchise record for consecutive wins is 17 games, set during the 1995-96 campaign.

San Antonio, which has won seven in a row as the visitor, is an impressive 24-10 on the road this season. After tonight’s contest, the Spurs return home for a three-game homestand. They are scheduled to host Boston, Indiana and Detroit on the upcoming stand.

The Bucks made big news on Wednesday, as they fired head coach Terry Stotts. In his second season as head coach, Stotts guided Milwaukee to a 40-42 record last season, qualifying the Bucks for the postseason for the sixth time in eight years. The Bucks were eliminated by the Detroit Pistons in five games in the opening round.

Assistant coach Krystkowiak was named as Stotts’ replacement and signed a multi-year contract. Krystkowiak came on as an assistant for the Bucks this past June after two seasons as head coach for Montana, his alma mater.

Milwaukee tries to put the brakes on a two-game losing streak, as it plays the fourth of a season-long seven-game homestand. On Monday, Chris Bosh posted 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Atlantic Division-leading Toronto Raptors to a 108-93 win over the Bucks at the Bradley Center.

Michael Redd scored 29 points in the loss to the Raptors for Milwaukee, which has lost four of its last five games overall. Charlie Bell collected 25 points and seven boards, while Mo Williams netted 18 and grabbed eight rebounds for the Bucks, who fell to 1-2 on their long homestand.

The Bucks are just 14-15 at home this season. They will also host the Charlotte Bobcats, Los Angeles Clippers and the Detroit Pistons on the current homestand.

This is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the squads. On December 26th, Redd scored 36 points to lead the Bucks to a 114-107 victory over San Antonio at the AT&T Center.

San Antonio has lost two of its last three at Milwaukee.
